The Order Sons of Italy of Canada along with Italian National Congress and other groups have worked closely to get Bill C302 passed. This Bill introduced by the Honourable Massimo Pacetti, MP was initiated to essentially request a formal apology from the Canadian government for the interment of Italian immigrants during the Second World War. This past May the bill was passed by the House of Commons the next step is the final vote in the Senate. Italo-Canadians are encouraged to approach the Members of Parliament in their respective cities and ask that they support this bill when it is presented again for final approval. It is the wish of the members of the Order to close this dark chapter of our history and move forward as proud Canadians of Italian descent
